R160

1973 kaufte mein Vater meiner Mutter zum 30. Geburtstag einen Kassettenrekorder. Für den stolzen Preis von 880 Mark hatte unsere Familie daraufhin einen R 160, der uns treu über viele Jahre, genauer gesagt bis 1995, begleitete.
Der R 160 war der erste Radiorekorder der DDR und wurde viele Jahre fast unverändert gebaut. Welche Freude wir mit dem Gerät hatten, darüber bloggte ich schon einmal.
Zuerst stand der Sternrekorder, so hieß das Gerät damals im Volksmund, in der Küche. Dort wurden jedes Jahr ein oder zwei ORWO-Kassetten (2x 30 Minuten zu 20 Mark das Stück) mit der üblichen 60er und 70er Jahre Musik bespielt, aber auch mit exotischer Musik, auch darüber bloggte ich schon einmal ausführlich.
Die insgesamt 21 Kassetten gingen 2001 beim Umzug leider verloren, Dank der erhaltenen Kassettenhefte konnte ich sie aber in digitaler Form (und Dank ISDN-Flatrate und Napster und Audio Galaxy) zu 100% wieder „herstellen“. Hier die vollständige Liste aller Lieder. Dubletten, überspielte Lieder usw., alles wurde ausnahmslos im Guten wie im Bösen berücksichtigt.

Man erkennt, daß 1983 die Aufnahmen aufhören. Das liegt daran, daß ich in diesem Jahr einen Stereoradiokorder kaufte, der ab da für die Aufnahmen zuständig war. 349 DM kostete der Sharp GF4545H, ja richtig, für Westmark im Intershop.
Der Sternrekorder leistete aber beim Abspielen (gerne auch mal mit Bandsalat) der Kassetten und Radiosender (eigentlich immer Bayern 3, außer am Samstag Morgen RIAS 2) weiterhin seine Dienste. Er war im Auto dabei, wenn es an die Ostsee ging und im Garten für die Grillfeiern. Irgendwann in den frühen 1990ern war das Kassettenteil ausgeleiert. Auch die Frequenzen oberhalb 100 MHz konnte das Gerät gar nicht wiedergeben. So landete er irgendwann im Müll.
Vorhin aber traf ein Paket ein. Darin: ein restaurierter Sternrekorder R 160 mit Holzgehäuse, also nicht einer dieser Neumodischen mit den runden Gehäuselöchern, die ab 1976 produziert wurden.
Und was soll ich sagen: es war wie ein Ausflug in die Kindheit, alles war vertraut. Und der Klang ist auch heute noch durchaus nicht schlecht. Nun wird er im Garten der Beschallung dienen.
30 EUR kostete mich das gute Stück. Das bringt mich direkt wieder zurück in die DDR. Dort sah ich einmal, es war im Jahr 1984 oder so in einem Quelle-Katalog den Sternrekorder-Nachfolger für 79,95 DM als „ideales Zweitgerät für Haus und Garten“. Man muß dazu sagen, daß zu dieser Zeit dieses Gerät, sofern es überhaupt im Handel erhältlich war, 795 Mark kostete. Ich erinnere mich noch an die Wut, die ich damals verspürte. Der DDR-Bürger mußte für so ein Gerät anstehen und, so er es überhaupt erhielt, einen Monatslohn auf den Tisch legen, der Westbürger zahlte hingegen für das identische Produkt den Gegenwert eines Tageslohns. Spätestens hier hörte ich wohl auf, ein Freund des Sozialismus zu sein 😉
